Eileen Christiansen
With a voice described as “richly resonant”, mezzo-soprano Eileen Christiansen is a Boston-based singer of oratorio, opera, and art song. Ms. Christiansen has performed as a soloist with the Masterworks Chorale, The Falmouth Chorale and Orchestra, Wellesley Choral Society, Polymnia Choral Society, The Boston Cecilia, The Candlelight Chorale, the Belmont Open Sings, the MetroWest Choral Artists, and the Salisbury Singers. Her notable concert solo performances include Mahler’s Kindertotenlieder, Britten’s Ceremony of Carols, Handel Messiah, Mozart Requiem, Durufle Requiem, Beethoven’s Mass in C-Major, M. Haydn Requiem, Adams’ Grand Pianola Music, Charpentier’s Messe de Minuit pour Nöel, and Haydn’s Paukenmesse and Lord Nelson Mass. In recent years, she has sung the roles of Carmen in The Tragedy of Carmen, the Mother in Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors, Dido in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, Jaffett in Benjamin Britten’s miracle play, Noye’s Fludde, the Old Prioress in Poulenc’s Dialogues of the Carmelites, and the Mother in Gabriella Snyder’s one-act opera The Rough-Face Girl: An Algonquin Cinderella Story. Ms. Christiansen was the Co-Founder of Opera Theater of Cape Cod, a chamber opera company dedicated to reigniting Cape Cod’s passion for opera with engaging performances of operatic favorites. She also leads a thriving voice studio in Melrose, MA.
